Isabelle Quispe:Peruvian and Costa Rican Linebacker Isabelle Quispe Earns National Honor From the New York Jets

Peruvian and Costa Rican linebacker Isabelle Quispe has been selected as the New York Jets’ female nominee for the fourth annual NFL Latino Youth Honors.
Isabelle Quispe is showing what becomes possible when athletic ability, cultural pride and a commitment to others come together.
The Passaic County Tech linebacker helped anchor her team’s defense during a senior season that included 12 consecutive victories. Wearing No. 33, she recorded 12 flag pulls, a sack and an interception that she returned 30 yards for a touchdown.
Her performance helped earn her selection as the New York Jets’ female nominee for the NFL Latino Youth Honors, a national program recognizing high school football players for their achievements on the field, in the classroom and throughout their communities.
Proud of her Peruvian and Costa Rican roots, Isabelle hopes to use sports as a bridge to serve her community and help more girls who share her background see themselves represented in football.
She is one of only 61 student-athletes selected by NFL teams nationwide. Eight divisional finalists will receive college grants and attend Super Bowl LXI, while the two national winners will each receive $25,000 toward their education.
For Isabelle, this recognition celebrates the athlete and leader she has already become, as well as the impact she hopes to make next.
