Argentina’s Las Yaguaretés Go Unbeaten to Win Their Fourth Straight South American Rugby Sevens Title
By Drafted Team
Four consecutive South American titles. Five wins in one weekend. Las Yaguaretés finished the 2026 championship with another trophy, earned on home soil in Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba.
Argentina’s women’s rugby sevens team defeated Brazil 19–10 on October 11 to secure its fourth consecutive continental title. Coached by Nahuel García, Las Yaguaretés arrived at the final unbeaten and protected that record against another undefeated side. UAR
Their route through the group stage was emphatic. Argentina beat the Dominican Republic 62–0, Guatemala 69–0, Paraguay 36–0, and Uruguay 39–0. Across those four games, opponents never reached the scoreboard.

The final required a different response. Brazil scored first, and Argentina answered through Candela Delgado. Tries from Talía Rodich and Antonella Reding helped the hosts build a 19–5 halftime lead. Brazil reduced the deficit after the break, but Argentina held its advantage to finish 19–10.
An unbeaten weekend and four consecutive championships give fans plenty to celebrate. They also give Argentina’s women’s rugby story continuity, with each title adding another team performance worth remembering.
In Carlos Paz, the players wearing the celeste y blanca delivered the latest one.
